Nicola Kuperus and Adam Lee Miller have been collaborating across disciplines since 1997. Together they created the band ADULT., inspired by electro, electropunk and synthopop elements.
Having released five albums and 18 singles to date, their sixth album will come out in spring 2017 after a yearlong creative process. They have toured the world multiple times, performing in places such as Moscow, Bogotá, and Sao Paulo. In 2014, they received a Knight Arts Challenge Award for their Detroit House Guests concept, turning a Detroit home into a residency space for six distinguished musicians. In October, they shared the stage with the Detroit Symphony Orchestra, presenting composer Tod Machover's Symphony in D. As Kuperus/Miller, they create site specific sound and video work which has been presented at the Mattress Factory (Pittsburg), Lille 3000 (Lille, FR) and D'lectricity (Detroit). They also make films, which have been screened at venues such as the Anthology Film Archives (NY), the Distrital Film Festival (MX), and the Detroit Institute of Arts.www.adultperiod.com
